Preventing and eliminating domestic violence

We are working towards our vision of a world where all intimate relationships are non-violent and respectful.

Domestic Violence Programs

We are here to help guide you in understanding and identifying what set of services will work best for you and your family to move from surviving to thriving.

Abuse Intervention Programs

We recognize that addressing the motivations that push individuals to violence is a service that needs to be provided. As part of our mission to eliminate domestic violence, we work to proactively address the issue where it starts.

Expanding Our Reach

Much of our work at ICADV focuses on promoting welcoming environments–across agencies and communities. We do this because we know that division, exclusion and isolation increase the likelihood that an individual will experience or use violence. ICADV works to prevent violence and to support survivors’ healing by promoting safe, stable and nurturing communities for all of us.

What We Do

ICADV, in partnership with our board, members and sponsors, strive to prevent and eliminate violence in Indiana. Through public policy advocacy, legal assistance, program support, trainings and much more, we are able to create impactful support for Hoosier survivors.

Campaigns

Spreading awareness of domestic violence is one of the first steps in addressing the problem of violence in our communities. When we learn and make lifestyle changes, we can create a safer Indiana for everyone.

We believe that Small Moments can make a Big Difference. That’s why we created the Small Moments campaign. Here, you can learn what communities around Indiana are doing to take action to prevent violence by promoting safe, stable, and nurturing relationships and environments.

We believe that a change of culture is needed to improve how we treat each other in relationships, and we work to make respectful relationship behavior the easy choice. This project was created by ICADV’s 2012-2018 Youth Council and Prevention Team.

Domestic abuse can take many different forms and so can the solutions. At the Indiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence, we have listened to survivors and nearly 100% told us that community norms of shame, stigma and judgment made it very difficult for them to reach out for support. Everyone has a part to play in ending the stigma around domestic abuse and domestic violence.

Indiana Disability Justice

Indiana Disability Justice (IDJ) is a program of ICADV and a violence prevention strategy that centers neurodivergent, Disabled people, and people with disabilities in leading the work of violence prevention in the state of Indiana. IDJ works to improve organizational policies and practices to create conditions where everyone can thrive.
